SIKESTON, Mo. -- A suspicious weekend fire remains under investigation.
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to a fire reported at 10:05 p.m. Friday at 811 Cherokee St., according to the incident report.
No one was home when the fire began, said Lt. Dennis Irwin, and occupants called when they returned home. None were
injured.
The damage was contained to the hallway area of the home, causing about $3,500 in damage. While on the scene for about two hours, firefighters were led to believe the fire was suspicious in origin, Irwin said. The investigation
continues.
