OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Repairs to the main water tower of the Central Alexander County Water District here will mean no water at night for three weeks.
Sandblasting and painting the tower, both inside and out, will begin Monday. The repairs are required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Water customers in Olive Branch, Sandusky, Willard, Unity and Cache will be without water from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night of the repairs.
The water district has advised that all drinking and cooking water should be boiled as a precaution until further notice.
The district's water customers in Klondike and Urbandale won't be affected by the repairs or shutdown.
For more information, contact the district's general manager, Doris Maze, at the office, 618-776-5241, from 8 to noon or at 618-776-5541 afternoons and evenings.
