A second gunshot victim has been reported by local authorities. The 22-year-old may have been injured in the same shooting which injured a 28-year-old man in the 300 block of South Hanover Street. Police are investigating the connection between the two victims.
Cape Girardeau police responded to a report of gunshots being fired late Wednesday afternoon near the corner of Good Hope Boulevard and Hanover Street. Eyewitness accounts say between two to three shots were fired.
The identities of the victims were not released.
Local authorities have cordoned off a house on South Hanover Street as the possible scene of the crime and are currently searching the scene for evidence.
No suspects have been identified yet, police said.
