Law enforcement authorities in Perry County are seeking information to aid in identifying and locating several suspects they believe are responsible for theft of payroll checks and petty cash at several businesses.

The Perry County Sheriff's Department reported in a news release that several men have entered businesses seeking job applications and returned and burglarized the businesses later when they are closed.

"We believe these guys are part of a larger criminal organization that has recently targeted our region of the country," said Perry County Sheriff Gary J. Schaaf in the release. "They cashed the payroll checks out of town, using what we believe to be counterfeit IDs from different states. They had no plan to work at these businesses, but were there to case the facility for later burglary."
