Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops from around the area will gather Saturday in Cape Girardeau to demonstrate a variety of scouting skills at the annual Shawnee District Scout-O-Rama.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Central High School gymnasium.
Bob White, chairman of the Scout-O-Rama, said he expects about 20 units will participate. There will be indoor and outdoor displays covering a wide range of scouting skills and activities.
Cub Scouts will also be participating in a pinewood derby, rain gutter regatta, and space derby races throughout the day.
This year's theme is: "Duty to God and Country."
Units will be participating from Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Scott City, Perryville, and other nearby towns.
