A Jonesboro, Illinois, man was sentenced Wednesday to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one count of unlawful failure to report a change of address for a sex offender.

Brandon D. Griffin, 32, of Jonesboro did not report he had moved from his residence in Jonesboro in accordance with the law within three days, and he was arrested in July, according to a news release from Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmunds.

Griffin pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse on February 2010, stemming from acts committed with a minor between 2007 and 2009 in Dongola, Illinois, according to the news release.

Griffin was released from prison in January 2014 and was required to register as a sex offender upon his release, Edmunds wrote.
