Southeast Missouri State University's master's degree programs in nursing, communication disorders and business administration are among the nation's leading graduate programs, according to the 2016 edition of Best Graduate Schools from U.S. News & World Report.
The U.S. News' recognition of Southeast's master's degree programs in nursing, communication disorders and business underscores what others in this region already know about these quality programs, Charles McAllister, dean of the School of Graduate Studies, said in a news release from Southeast.
"The master of science in nursing prepares graduates for advanced health care delivery across the life span, with emphasis on the needs present throughout Southeast Missouri," McAllister said in the release. "The master of business administration has been consistently validated by external organizations as providing exceptional preparation in business operations and managerial strategy.
"The master of arts in communication disorders is a specialized program with an extensive record of successfully preparing students for national certification and state licensure as speech-language pathologists."
The six graduate disciplines U.S. News ranks annually are evaluated on factors that include standardized test scores of newly enrolled students, employment outcomes for graduates, acceptance rates and other criteria. Because each graduate program is different, the rankings methodology varies across disciplines.
