BENTON -- Eleven people were injured in three Scott County car accidents Thursday, all on Highway 61.

The first was a van that skidded on wet pavement and rolled over twice, ejecting passenger Florentino Laura from the vehicle. The Missouri Highway Patrol said it happened at 1:41 p.m., one mile south of Benton.

Laura received moderate injuries. The driver, Mario Flores, 25, and passengers Guadalupe Garces, 21, and Crystal Garces, 4, all of Sikeston, received minor injuries.

They were treated at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Six other people were injured at 4:14 p.m. in an accident three miles north of Sikeston. Jimmy Farmer, 18, of Sikeston, was turning onto County Road 450 when another vehicle collided with him in the left rear.

Farmer received minor injuries, as did passengers Joseph Western, 5, and Margaret Western, 25. Stacy Farmer, 18, received moderate injuries. All the passengers live in Sikeston.

The driver of the other car, Shaunita Moore, 19, of Sikeston, received minor injuries. Her passenger, Michelle King, 18, of Sikeston, received moderate injuries.

All were taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

The third accident on Highway 61 involved one car. It occurred near Morley, and the driver received minor injuries.
