Four people were injured in a one-vehicle accident about 1 p.m. Saturday on Highway 34 one mile west of Jackson.
Joseph Womack, 36, of Sikeston and Dorothy Fuller, 32, James Driscoll, 12, and Brian Driscoll, 11, all of Cape Girardeau, were taken to St. Francis Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.
According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the vehicle driving by Womack ran off the road and hit an embankment due to defective brakes.
In New Madrid County, two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident about 1 p.m. Saturday on Route BB, three miles south of East Prairie.
Tommy Holdiness, 29, of New Madrid was taken to Missouri Delta Hospital in Sikeston, and Veronica Holdiness, 53, also of New Madrid was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Anthony Taylor of Matthews failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a vehicle driving by Barry Holdiness of New Madrid.
In Butler County, two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Christopher Corbett, 18, of Campbell and Amanda Eads, 16, of Piggott suffered minor injuries and were taken to Doctors Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, the vehicle driving by Corbett ran off the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.
