Seven Notre Dame High School seniors have received the Missouri Higher Education Academic "Bright Flight" Scholarship.
Earning the awards are Amy Eftink, Lisa Hoffman, Greg Rubel, Ryan Gosche, Lori Maurer, Chris Schaefer and Paula Welker.
These students qualify for the $2,000 renewable scholarship because they scored 30 or above on the enhanced ACT.
Eftink is the daughter of David and Doris Eftink of Oran. She plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University and participate in the pre-med program.
Hoffman is the daughter of Richard and Mary Ann Hoffman of Cape Girardeau. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia and major in journalism or literature.
Rubel is the son of Robert and Bonnie Rubel of Cape Girardeau Route 1. He plans to attend Maryville University and major in physical therapy.
Gosche is the son of Ron and Linda Gosche. He plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia and major in civil or industrial engineering.
Maurer, daughter of Jim and Teresa Maurer of Cape Girardeau, plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is interested in business or health professions.
Schaefer is the son of Donald and Diane Schaefer of Cape Girardeau. He plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University and is interested in electronics and criminal justice.
Welker will attend St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She will pursue a career in either retail or research pharmacy. She is the daughter of Jerry and Charlotte Welker.
