SERVICE AWARD

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Dennis Marchi, Schnucks manager here, has received one of his company's prestigious awards The Edward J. Schnuck Community Service Award.

Only three other people have received the award, which is presented for outstanding civic leadership and dedication to community service.

Marchi is currently serving on boards of directors for the Salvation, American Red Cross, Community Counseling Center, St. Francis Medical Center, United Way, and Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the advisory board of Southeast Missouri State University Marketing Department, and the university's Business College. He is a member of the university's Copper Dome Society, and Booster's Club.

He has served as officers for the retail steering committee of the Chamber, Riverfest committee, Friends of the Park, and is currently chairman of the Southeast Missouri Boy Scouts Food Drive. Previous honors include Jaycee Boss of the Year, 1991; Jaycee Distinguished Service Award, 1988; state award for being largest employer of Easter Seals Program, `Project Hire,' 1988; and Cobble Stone Award for Community Service, 1989.
