It was decided that the USA Signal was not the ideal medium for a story of this length to be printed. The remaining 36 chapters will be summarized in two-to-three installments, beginning next week.

Incidentally, it has come to our attention that a word slipped past our proof-readers in last week's installment. Mrs. Nesbit-Kranckenberger's manuscript contains a number of direct quotes of obscenities the youngster yelled, helping to depict the feelings of helplessness and frustration the parents endured. These words had been "starred out" (i.e., "f****r"). One, however, accidentally made it into print Jan. 2. The USA Signal apologizes for this oversight.
