Two vehicles that overturned in separate accidents Saturday in Bollinger and Ste. Genevieve counties moderately injured a Glen Allen man and left a Festus man with serious injuries.

The Missouri Highway Patrol at Poplar Bluff reported the Bollinger County accident moderately injured David Barker, 30, of Glen Allen. Barker was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, said a patrol spokesman. A hospital spokeswoman said Saturday night that he was in stable condition.

Barker sustained the injuries when the 1988 GMC pickup truck he was driving east ran off Highway 34 at Glen Allen and overturned, according to the patrol. Barker had not worn a seat belt, said the spokesman.

The accident occurred at 1:15 p.m., he said.

Injured in the Ste. Genevieve County accident was Sean P. Healey, 18, of Festus, said a spokeswoman with the patrol at Flat River. Healey suffered serious injuries and went to Jefferson Memorial Hospital by Ste. Genevieve ambulance, she said.

The accident took place at 6:10 a.m. on Highway 61 1 miles south of Route OO, she said. A 1981 Ford pickup truck driven south by Healey ran off the right side of the road and overturned, ejecting Healey. The spokeswoman said the vehicle overturned after Healey overcorrected it.

Healey also had not worn his seat belt, the patrol reported.
