The Senior Citizens Service Fund has a new board of directors, who have already submitted their budget plans for the 1993 fiscal year.
The board members are Dr. Shelba Branscum, president; Cecelia Sonderman, vice-president; Robert E. Deneke Sr., treasurer; and Ken Lucy, secretary.
The board was designed to review applications from agencies who provide transportation, home and health care, food and nutrition and counseling services for persons over the age of 60 in Cape Girardeau County.
After review, the board submits a budget proposal for approval of the county commission.
Branscum said that the board receives applications from about 15-20 different agencies each year.
"There's almost always a need, no matter what area you're talking about," Branscum said. "We're not over serviced in any area - ever."
The board did not allocate all of its estimated $220,000 budget, saving the rest of the monies to be distributed as needed next year.
