A program for active senior adults will debut Wednesday at West Park Mall.
"SeniorWise Programs," sponsored by Southeast Missouri Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center and Schnucks, is an outgrowth of the Senior Citizen's Activity Days formerly held at the mall.
The SeniorWise concept was created to open the programs to older adults across a wider area of the region at senior nutrition centers and other community meeting facilities.
The Wednesday program returns to West Park Mall at 8:30 a.m. with a free continental breakfast in the Venture court area, followed by free blood pressure screenings. A spring gardening program will be presented in the West Park 4 Cine.
Speakers for the program are Paul Schnare and Dortha Strack of Sunny Hill Gardens, who will answer spring planting and gardening questions for the senior group.
Door prizes donated by SeniorWise sponsors, Sunny Hill Gardens and West Park Mall merchants, will be awarded following the program. Events are free for all area senior citizens.
