St. Francis Medical Center's 14th annual Older American Health Fair, a day of free screenings and health information, is scheduled Saturday in the St. Francis Health & Education Centre. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.
Anyone age 60 or older is welcome to participate. No appointment is necessary and ample parking will be available next to the Health & Education Center.
Bonnie Perdue of the St. Francis Volunteer Services office, coordinator of the Older American Health Fair, noted that hundreds of older people from throughout the area annually participate in the event.
Services to be offered at the Older American Health Fair will include blood pressure checks and blood profiles, foot screenings, hearing tests, vision screenings, dental screenings, colon cancer screenings and diabetic screenings.
In addition to St. Francis Medical Center, organization sponsoring the health fair include the American Red Cross, the Area Agency on Aging and the Visiting Nurse Association.
