JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Tom Meyer was approved as a member of the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents by the Missouri Senate on Wednesday.
The appointment caused no commentary during a meeting of the Gubernatorial Appointments Committee and was approved as part of a slate of about two dozen appointees considered.
The appointment was then approved by the full Senate, along with other appointments, in a voice vote.
As they rose from the desk in front of the committee, state Sen. Jason Crowell joked to Meyer: "I told you they wouldn't pick on you just because I was your sponsoring senator."
