Southeast Missouri State University is participating in an effort to boost the rate of students completing degrees.
The Cape Girardeau school says it's been picked to participate in the Missouri Completion Academy. The Missouri Department of Higher Education is helping organize the two-day event this September in St. Louis. Participants will get help with things like reducing the length of time to complete a degree and improving remedial education.
They'll hear from experts with Complete College America, a Washington-based national nonprofit working to increase the number of students with a college degree.
Southeast Missouri State University and other schools participating in the program will complete a written action plan. They'll also get a chance to discuss progress implementing their action plans.
