The Wellness Advantage Program at Southeast Missouri State University will sponsor a wellness screening Monday through Friday next week for all University employees.
The event is scheduled for 7-10:30 a.m. in the University Center Ballroom. All part-time and full-time regular staff, full-time faculty and their spouses are invited to participate.
The purpose of the screening is to detect risk factors for cardiovascular disease and cancer, the leading causes of death in the United States. Early detection of both hypertension and high blood cholesterol can help reduce the risk of future heart attacks and strokes, organizers said.
Participants will receive a blood analysis for cholesterol levels, a body fat evaluation, a low back analysis, a blood pressure measurement and a computerized food analysis.
All participants will receive a T-shirt and be eligible for awards. To schedule an appointment, call (314) 651-2572 today or Friday from 7:30-11:30 a.m. or Thursday from noon to 4 p.m.
