Kendra Foster and Teresa Wildman, both of Cape Girardeau, got a taste of the insider political life when they attended a leadership conference in Baltimore.
Foster and Wildman, both political science students at Southeast Missouri State University, were selected to attend the Center for the Study of the Presidency's 25th Annual Leadership Conference during October.
At the conference, Foster moderated a panel on the First Amendment and the media. Panelists included Thomas C. Griscom, former White House communications director.
They were two of 25 students selected from a nationwide pool of 900 to serve as fellows for the center. Their selection was based on letters of recommendation and their school record.
The conference also included a tour of the Baltimore area, receptions and special meetings for the fellows. Wildman and Foster are required to write a paper, which will be sent to the Board of Trustees as well as moderate panels during one of the Center's conferences.
