Michele Tapp, academic and career advising director at Southeast Missouri State University, gave a presentation at the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce First Friday Coffee on Friday about REDConnect, an "intentional and targeted e-recruitment tool" that makes job hunting and hiring a little easier.

REDConnect, with RED standing for Redhawk Employment Database, is computer software introduced by the Office of Career Services at Southeast. The software will allow local employers to advertise any open positions and internships available within their company, and gives employers access to resume books of Southeast students and alumni, Tapp said.

Employers also can manage their on-campus recruitment events through the software, she added.

The service REDConnect offers is free, and upgrades are available for purchase, Tapp said. Southeast does not financially benefit from the use of the software.
