American studies students at a London college are getting a look at presidential politics through the lectures of a Southeast Missouri State University faculty member.
Peter Bergerson, chairman of Southeast's political science department, left Sunday for a two-week visit to England.
Bergerson will lecture at Middlesex College. He will discuss the U.S. presidential election process, focusing on the primaries and the national conventions. He will speak to Middlesex faculty on campaign strategies and the issues in the fall presidential campaign.
Bergerson will have an opportunity to observe the elaborate ceremony marking the opening of the new session of Parliament. The queen of England will attend the opening ceremony, along with members of the House of Commons and House of Lords.
