SEMO Press Assoc. award goes to the late Joni Adams Bliss

Mark Bliss accepts the Mildred Wallhousen Friend of SEMO Press Association award for his late wife, Joni Adams Bliss, who died of ovarian cancer July 22, 2008. She was former managing editor of the Southeast Missourian and began working at the Bulletin-Journal newspaper in Cape Girardeau while studying for her mass communications degree at Southeast Missouri State University. She worked at the Southeast Missourian after the two newspapers joined. She was president of the Southeast Missouri Press Association in 1997. In 2000, she left the newspaper and joined the marketing department of Southeast Missouri Hospital. Standing beside Mark Bliss is Peggy Scott of Leader Publications.
