Students planning to enter teacher education programs in Missouri are being urged to register for and take the College Basic Academic Examination (C-Base) March 27 at Southeast Missouri State University.
The exam will be administered in the Scully Building. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., university officials said.
The Excellence in Education Act requires all students planning to enter teacher education programs at Missouri colleges and universities to achieve a satisfactory rating in specific subject areas covered by the exam prior to acceptance into any Missouri teacher education program, university officials said.
The achievement test assesses student proficiency in English, mathematics, science and social studies.
Students planning to enter any teacher education program in Missouri are advised to register for and take the exam at the earliest possible date. Score reports are received approximately four to six weeks after testing.
The registration fee is $36. Standby candidates will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis as long as materials and space are available, and will be charged an additional $15. Registration forms are available at Testing Services, 713 N. Henderson.
Students registering for the March 27 test are required to complete the registration form and return it to Testing Services with payment by March 10. For more information, contact Testing Services at (314) 651-2836.
