Southeast Missouri State University is offering a new master's degree program in its college of business on campus and online specifically for managers and others seeking a management role.

The new master of science degree program in organizational management is geared toward improving performance of current managers and advancing others to midlevel managerial positions, according to a news release from the university.

Dr. Alan Gathman, the university's associate dean for online learning, said in January that the university's Harrison College of Business was considering offering the program as part of a plan of the university to grow the number of online degree programs and courses.

Gathman said the degree would be a good choice for people who have gotten into a business career while coming from a different sort of background.

The program will require students to complete 30 hours, including 21 hours of general management courses and nine hours of electives. Admission is now open, and a list of full requirements for admittance can be found online at www.semo.edu/gradbusiness.
