Dr. Margaret Noe has been named the new dean of the College of Education at Southeast Missouri State University. She is currently associate chancellor for access and equal opportunity and associate professor of educational leadership at the University of Illinois at Springfield. She will begin July 1 and replaces Dr. I. Sue Shepard, who is retiring.
Noe earned a law degree from Southern Illinois University, a doctoral degree and a masters of education degree in educational administration from Illinois State University, and a bachelor of arts degree in education from Eureka College.
She has served as superintendent of two school districts in Illinois; as dean of students, division head and director of curriculum and personnel at Limestone Community High School; and as extension coordinator for Illinois Central College. She taught in the Department of Educational Administration and Higher Education at Southern Illinois University before joining the University of Illinois at Springfield.
