The Southeast Missouri State University d ebate team completed successful rounds Nov. 8 and 9 at a tournament hosted by Eastern Kentucky University.

The team of Southeast students Jeni Rigdon, a senior from St. Charles, and Dan Byron, a junior from Hillsboro, compiled four wins and two losses. Byron also was named the eighth speaker in the tournament.

The team of Joanne Jenkins of O'Fallon, Ill., and Leslie Pace of Arnold garnered five wins and one loss.

In addition, Jenkins was named seventh speaker and Pace won fourth speaker honors.

Pace and Jenkins advanced to the quarterfinal round by defeating Western Kentucky University. The duo later fell to Ferris State in the semifinals.
