Carried a resolution of honor for the Southeast baseball team for winning the OVC championship and winning the first NCAA tournament game in the school's history.
Tabled a faculty senate bill on merit pay guidelines. The proposed policy extends the promotion process into a post-tenure, post-professor step. Meritorious performance would be rewarded upon promotion to associate or professor by an increased base salary adjustment. Once the rank of professor is achieved, faculty becomes eligible to apply for merit every five years.
Approved the master's degree in public administration with an option in health and leisure.
Approved the FY2003 university operating budget and FY 2003 auxiliary operating budget.
Approved the acknowledgment that the university is in a state of financial emergency.
Approved increasing off-campus fees by $2 per credit hour for courses beginning in fall 2002 and by an additional $2 per credit hour in fall 2003.
Approved, beginning fall 2002 through spring 2004, a $6 per credit hour surcharge on all Southeast credit courses except for dual credit and dual enrollment.
Approved special program fees of $250 per semester for students enrolling in communication disorders and nursing graduate programs.
Approved, beginning with fall 2002, increasing the incidental fees for dual credit and dual enrollment to 55 percent of the regular incidental fees.
Approved the closing of the university on Dec. 23, 2002. It has not yet been determined if the day will be a paid energy conservation day or furlough.
Approved the FY2004 capital budget requests.
