PATTON, Mo. -- A 12-year-old Sedgewickville boy was killed Saturday afternoon when the ATV he was driving overturned onto him as he attempted to climb a steep embankment.

Anthony T. Bollinger was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:52 p.m. by Bollinger County assistant coroner Kevin Otte.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the boy was driving on County Road 378 about 2 miles east of Patton when the accident occurred.

He was the son of Sam and Dana Clifford Bollinger, and the brother of Christopher and Dustin Bollinger. He was a seventh-grade student at Meadow Heights School where he was a member of the student council and the basketball team.

He belonged to the Post Oak Congregational United Methodist Church.

Visitation is from 3:30 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Little Whitewater Baptist Church near Patton. The funeral will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
