Section of Route U to be closed today; I-55 in Scott County to be reduced next week

Section of Route U to be closed today

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route U in Cape Girardeau County today for pipe replacement. The work, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., will continue until about 3:30 p.m. Crews will replace the pipe in a section of road between County Road 225 and County Road 391. I-55 in Scott County to be reduced next week

Travel on Interstate 55 in Scott County will be restricted to one southbound lane for part of next week while crews perform routine bridge maintenance. The travel restriction will limit traffic in the Sikeston area to one southbound lane from Route HH to the Interstate 57 overpass. Work will start at 6:30 a.m. Monday with an expected completion by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
