SIKESTON, Mo. -- A second suspect is being sought in connection with the June 6 shooting death of TyRussell Davis.
Kelvin Knight, 22, is being sought by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety on a warrant for murder, assault, robbery and armed criminal action.
"We've got one suspect in custody, and this is the other suspect," said Department of Public Safety director Drew Juden.
The charges are from a shooting about 11:10 p.m. June 6. Sikeston officers received a call of shots fired around the intersection of Welter Drive and Lee Avenue, said Capt. Jim McMillen, public information officer with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
Upon arriving, officers found a sport utility vehicle stopped near the intersection in the middle of the road. Davis, of St. Louis, was found dead from gunshot wounds.
Also injured during the attack was a 22-year-old passenger, who has not been named. That victim, found in a nearby lot a few yards from the vehicle, was transported to a hospital and treated for three gunshot wounds.
The SEMO Major Case Squad was activated for the investigation that led to the St. Louis area, where officers found and arrested Tyler Triplett, 26, of Sikeston on June 7.
Triplett is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault. He remains in custody with a cash-only bond of $150,000.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 573-471-4711. Tips can remain anonymous.
