BOLINGBROOK, Ill. -- Searchers looking for missing Bolingbrook woman Stacy Peterson are learning sonar techniques for scouring waterways while continuing land searches.
Stacy Peterson, the wife of former Bolingbrook police sergeant Drew Peterson, disappeared last October.
Since then, hundreds have gathered in and around the Chicago suburb. Volunteers recently purchased a 14-foot boat and named it Stacy Ann.
On Sunday, searchers combed land in Bolingbrook. Another search was planned for Monday.
Search organizer Roy Taylor said water search efforts are focused on locating barrels. So far, he said more than 34 have been found in canals and streams.
Searchers have said police have asked them to look for a blue plastic barrel.
Drew Peterson has been named a suspect, but he hasn't been charged in the disappearance and has denied any wrongdoing.
