Cape Girardeau police served two search warrants as part of drug investigations this week, netting a half-pound of marijuana in one raid and discovering two wanted men but little drugs in the other, a police spokesman said. Following a warrant search at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at 412 S. Hanover St., Verna Wiseman was charged with distributing marijanna and her bond was set at $25,000, police spokesman Cpl. Jason Selzer said. In the other raid, police entered a home about 3:20 p.m. Monday at 1024 William St., where officers found residue that they believe to be cocaine, Selzer said. "It wasn't enough to collect, and they also found some drug paraphernalia." Officer brought 10 people to the police station following the William Street raid, Selzer said. Of that 10, seven spent the night in jail. By morning, all were released except two men with outstanding warrants. Larry Bridges, 21, of 1400 N. Sprigg St., was arrested on three Cape Girardeau warrants for contempt of court for failure to pay fines and one Scott City warrant for failure to appear for minor in possession, while Keith Anderson, 46, of 418 S. Sprigg St., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for fraud, insufficient funds and a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to appear.
