SCOUT EARNS HIGHEST RANK

JACKSON -- Ryan Shelton, 16, recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America.

Shelton is a member of Troop 311, sponsored by the Jackson Optimist Club.

To earn the award, Shelton completed a service project that included building and installing a storage cabinet in the applied mathematics classrooms at Cape Girardeau Central High School.

Shelton is a junior at Jackson High School and is a member of the band. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shelton of Jackson.
