Boyd's body was discovered when authorities received a call from the state park's superintendent about a vehicle that had been parked on the park grounds for several days, according to the news release.

An investigation found that the car was registered to Boyd, who had been reported missing several days earlier in Scott County. Thursday afternoon searchers found Boyd's body about a half-mile into a wooded area from where the vehicle was found, the news release said.

The cause of death was still under investigation Friday, and an autopsy was planned.
