Connie D. Spencer, 51, of Scott County, pleaded guilty to four felony counts of bank fraud Wednesday in federal court in Cape Girardeau.
Spencer faces up to 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing was set for Feb. 25.
With her guilty plea, she admitted that between April and July 2001 she used a checking account at First Security Bank of Charleston, Mo., and an account at the Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau to execute a "check kiting" scheme to defraud the banks by writing checks on one account and depositing them into the other account.
