BENTON -- Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell was elected president of the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force this week.

Ferrell, entering his 23rd year as sheriff, has been part of the Task Force since it was formed in 1990. He was elected during the board's annual meeting.

Ferrell has served as project director, treasurer and vice president of the board during it's existence

"The Southeast Missouri Drug Task force is one of the most productive in the state in terms of numbers of arrests and cases prosecuted, not only at the state level but at the federal level," he said.
