HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. -- Two Scott County residents received moderate injuries in a crash Thursday morning at the intersection of Route U and U.S. 61, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Sharita Danielton, 17, of Haywood City was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Juannita McClinton, 57, of Oran as it was stopped at a stop sign. McClinton, along with Mikeem Daniel, 14, a passenger of Danielton, were taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

BENTON, Mo. -- A Benton teenager received minor injuries Wednesday night in a one-vehicle crash on Scott County Road 401, three miles east of Benton. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lance Meyer, 16, was injured when the vehicle he was driving ran off the roadway and struck a telephone pole. He was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital by ambulance.
