Scott County raid

An early morning raid resulted in 13 people arrested on warrants in Scott County on Friday.

The Scott County Sheriff's Department Emergency Response Team cooperated with officers from the police departments from Scott City, Morley and Oran, and the SEMO Drug Task Force to serve 17 warrants issued in the last week. They were issued after officers served search warrants during investigations.

Of the people on the list, 12 were arrested. One man, who was not on the list, was arrested on a 2-month-old warrant. The remaining five were either not home or had moved, said chief deputy Tom Beardslee. Officers arrested all of them from their homes before the sun rose, because they were most likely to be there, he aid.

Eight of the arrests on Friday were for possession of marijuana, with four people on felony charges.

Robert Cox, 38, and Lynn Cox, 39, of Scott City, are being held on a $15,000 bond for felony possession of marijuana.

Donna Jungers, 45, of Scott City, is being held on a $25,000 bond for felony possession of marijuana.

Amanda Hice, 20, of Morley, is being held on a $10,000 bond for felony possession of marijuana.

The man not on the list was Patrick Wyatt, 44, of Benton, and is being held on at $5,000 bond for felony nonsupport charges.

The rest were misdemeanor charges on nonsupport, failure to appear, contempt of court and animal abuse.

Throughout the year, the sheriff's department manages a warrant list of about 1,400 people. Every so often, they initiate stings that track down between 15 to 40 people.
