Firefighters were busy in north Scott County early Saturday, with three fires reported between midnight and about 2.

A one-story house fire at Oran, a vacant theater building at Chaffee and a mobile home fire at Scott City were reported.

Oran and the New Hamburg, Commerce and Benton firefighters battled the blaze at Oran just past midnight.

Owners of the house were not home at the time of the fire, and names of the owners were not released.

The home, on Church Street, was heavily damaged, said Oran firefighter Mike Ramsey.

The old theater building at 100 Yoakum in Chaffee suffered only minor damage.

NBC firefighters went from the Oran fire to the Chaffee fire to help battle, which was reported about 1:30.

"We were at the scene four or five hours, containing the fire," said Chaffee firefighter Mike Lee.

The mobile home fire was reported at Scott City at 2:06. Scott City firefighters responded to the blaze at 808 First St. East. The mobile home was destroyed.
