Officers caught a female burglar in the act in broad daylight Wednesday, the Scott County Sheriff's Department reported.
Public information officer Dane Stausing of the Scott County Sheriff's Department said the combination of a female burglar active in the middle of the day was very rare.
"They usually don't involve women," Stausing said. "If they're there, they're usually lookouts or drivers. We rarely get a female by herself."
Tawny Divietro, 29, of Vanduser, Missouri, has been charged with felony burglary and possession of burglary tools. Deputies responded to a call about 4 p.m. Wednesday on East Caroline Street in Morley, Missouri.
Divietro had broken in through a window, a news release stated. She was carrying knives, a flashlight, a screwdriver and other tools used to commit burglary when she exited the house of her own volition, the news release stated.
Stausing said deputies were on the scene fast enough, Divietro was unable to steal anything.
Stausing added Divietro formerly had been in a relationship with the resident and knew he would be at work at the time of the burglary.
