BENTON -- A Benton woman was injured Sunday afternoon in a two-car accident, one mile east of Benton in Highway 77.
Cheryl G. Montgomery, 26, was transported to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau where she was treated for minor injuries and released. She was wearing a seat belt, police said.
Montgomery's vehicle was struck by another driven by Doris J. Seagraves, 73, of Cape Girardeau, who was cited by a Missouri State Highway patrolman for failure to yield the right of way and for not wearing a seat belt.
A spokesman for the Highway Patrol said that Seagraves turned left in front of Montgomery, striking Montgomery's vehicle in the rear.
