SCOTT CITY -- Bridget Hopper of Scott City recently observed her 100th birthday with two celebrations.
The first was an open house at her home April 2. Hosts were daughters, Rose Goehman of Cape Girardeau, Alma Crader of Scott City, and Willie Janesko of Waterloo, Ill.
Mayor Larry Forhan presented Hopper with a 100th Birthday Proclamation. A granddaughter, Connie Walker of Scott City, had a flag flown over the state capitol in her honor, which will be presented to Hopper.
The second celebration was a family reunion and dinner on April 4.
Friends and relatives attended from Cape Girardeau, Columbia, Chaffee, Benton, Kelso, Sikeston, Scott City, St. Louis; Rock Island, Glen Ellyn and Waterloo, Ill.; Hamburg and Ozark, Ark.
