SCOTT CITY -- Amy Bertrand, a Scott City High School senior, has won a National Honor Society Scholarship.
She competed against more than 12,000 students from across the United States. The award is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Bertrand was among 250 National Honor Society winners who each received a $1,000 scholarship.
She is president of the National Honor Society, Pep Club and the speech team. Bertrand is vice president of Future Business Leaders of America, secretary of the senior class and editor of the school yearbook.
She is captain of the football and basketball cheerleading squad. this fall she plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Bertrand is the daughter of Larry and Connie Bertrand of Scott City.
