The Scott City School Board approved filing dates for the April 7 election during Wednesday night's meeting.
Two seats, held by board member Gary Miller and president Beth Cox, are up for election. Both seats carry three-year terms.
Filing runs from Dec. 16 through Jan. 20. Candidates may file from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays at the school administrative office at 3000 Main St. in Scott City. School offices will be closed from Dec. 19 through Jan. 2 for Christmas break.
On another election matter, the board approved results from the Nov. 4 bond extension election.
Superintendent Diann Ulmer said after the election that 692 people voted for the extension and 258 voted against it. Just over 72 percent of the voters backed the extension, dubbed Proposition Kids, and 27.16 percent were against it.
The proposal asked whether $1.75 million in bonds should be issued to update school buildings and make them more secure.
With the proposal's passage, the district's tax rate will remain at 49 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
In other business, Miller told the board Illmo-Fornfelt-Ancell-Scott City High School alumni had made a $10,000 gift to endow a scholarship through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. The gift will be matched by $10,000 through a university matching gift program, a university news release said.
Miller said a reunion in September was attended by about 350 people. "We passed the hat and raised $10,000 toward a scholarship for a second-year Scott City student," he said.
He said the donations came from former students, with the exception of a contribution from The Bank of Missouri.
A minimum 3.0 grade-point average is required, and the recipient will be selected by the University Scholarship Committee.
