Justin Cox, a seventh grade student at Scott City Junior High School, has been recognized by the Duke University Talent Search Program for his outstanding performance on the ACT college entrance examination. Talent Search participants are selected from the most able seventh grade students in a 16-state area.

Cox was nominated by the school board on his achievement on the Missouri Mastery and Achievement Test. As a result of his scores on the ACT, Cox will be honored at a state ceremony at Drury College in Springfield. On each of the four subtests of the ACT, Cox scores at or above the state qualifying score.

He is the son of Debbie Nichols of Scott City and Bryan Cox of Rolla.
