The Scott City Police Department will host two fundraisers this month for the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a program that in 2010 collected more than $38 million for the Special Olympics of Missouri.
On Saturday officers and dispatchers will be bagging groceries at Bob's Foodliner. Volunteers are requesting a donation of any size. Donations will benefit the Special Olympics.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 11, the police department will collect donations at all major intersections in Scott City. Officers and dispatchers will also be standing at the Interstate 55 north and south ramps and the access route to U.S. 61 in an effort to collect money for the torch run.
Contact the police department at 264-2121 with questions.
