SCOTT CITY -- City officials approved the 1995-96 budget at Monday's City Council meeting.
The budget, which takes effect July 1, lists more specific categories than in the past, City Administrator John Saxton said.
"More categories create more accountability," Saxton said. "It was a desire for more detail."
Specific categories for overtime, travel expenses and personnel testing were added to the budget, he said. However, many of these categories aren't new additions but were grouped differently in previous years.
In other business, the council voted to put a stop sign at Oak at Perkins streets. A VFW liquor license renewal was approved.
Joe McDaniel and Richard Brawley requested special-use permits to build apartments, City Clerk Nona Walls said. Public hearings will be held at an upcoming council meeting.
