SCOTT CITY --Although he arrives at the mall this weekend, Santa won't be visiting Scott City until December.

A visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus are part of the holiday activities planned for the "Christmas Celebration in the Park" on Dec. 1.

During the celebration, the Scott City Fire Department will light it's Tree of Lights. Carolers from the Broadway United Methodist Church also will sing.

Local churches, organizations and businesses have created a Winter Wonderland lighting display in the city park. The scenes also will be lit during the celebration, which begins at 7 p.m. at the park.

Residents are invited to drive through the park to see the displays from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. from Dec. 1 to Jan. 3, 1996.
