Scott City will host its 12th citywide yard sale this weekend.
From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, the city will be filled with residents cleaning out closets and packing their yards with possible treasures, hoping to make a little extra spending money.
Booklets containing a map of where the sales will be and advertising for businesses will be available Thursday morning at city hall, Bob's Foodliner, Wild Hogs Smoke House, Bank of Missouri and a few other local businesses.
Inside the booklets are a map of the town with stars indicating which homes will host yard sales.
Parks and Recreation director Phyllis Crump said to watch for street signs as well, because not all the sales will be listed in the booklet.
She hopes about 50 houses will participate in this year's sale.
The yard sale is hosted this year by the Scott City Interactive Parks Program and Scott City Kiwanis Club. All the funds raised in advertising the sale go back to the community for different programs.
